(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Blues On Tour, a concert featuring more than a dozen blues artists but no real headliner, has been canceled due to soft ticket sales in the United States and Canada. The ambitious tour never got off the ground. It would have featured Ruth Brown, Ike Turner, Chris Thomas King, Pinetop Perkins, Lil' Ed, Bobby Rush, Howard Tate, Robert Jr. Lockwood, Alvin "Youngblood" Hart, Walter "Wolfman" Washington & the Roadmasters and the Muddy Waters Blues band with Duke Robillard, among others.
Rob Bennett, vice president, House of Blues Concerts, producer of two Canadian dates, said that he "regretted that a wonderfully conceived showcase of the blues as an historic musical art form just never found its audience."
TKA booked tour; Paul Zakowski was the tour promoter. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
