Beach Music – South Carolina's Official Sound

South Carolina Gov. Jim Hodges signed a bill making beach music the state's official music, reports newspaper The State.

"Beach music is the music of South Carolina," Hodges said. "This new law is an opportunity to honor local artists who have made beach music the international language of good times."

However, according to an AP report, he already signed a bill in 1999 making spiritual music the state's official music. So now they have two.
