B. B. King — A Living Legend At Burger King

B B King was recently anointed America's favorite musical "Living Legend" by the patrons of Burger King. The nationwide musical celebratory event honored the accomplishments of African American musicians and was the largest music program undertaken by Burger King with participation from more than 2,700 Buger King restaurants.

Other nominees included Aretha Franklin, James Brown, R. Kelly, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Kirk Franklin and others.

"This is wonderful," said King. "I'm grateful to the public in nominating me. A special thank you to Burger King for the donation ($10,000 to Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Inc.) which will assist in continued advocacy and research in helping to find a cure for the sickle cell disease."
