Aspen Artist Development Conference 2001 (Business At High Altitude)

The Aspen Artist Development Conference, (held December 6-8 at the Saint Regis Hotel in Aspen, Colorado) is fast becoming the “MUST” attend conference in the industry. The intimate atmosphere (they cap enrollment at 200) allows attendees to really get to know each other in a way that is just not possible at similar events.

The conference attracts the who’s who of our industry from the likes of Irving Azoff, Frank Riley, Barbara Bausman and Nick Miller to Larry Webman, Michael Pontecorvo, Michael Belkin, John Branigan, Chip Hooper and Jesse Morreale. AADC heads Jim Lewi and Rob Bordan always set up sessions in a manner that allow attendees to interact in optimal ways, from breaking up attendees into small groups, and have them solve problems as a team, to allowing long Q&A sessions with guest lectures. After session dinner parties, at some of the best restaurants in the country, have become infamous in forging long lasting relationships. This years closing night dinner at over 11,000 feet (gondola ride at night) to the top of Aspen Mountain had to be one of the highlights of this years event.

The theme for this year's AADC 2001 was Marketing Solutions. Malcolm Gladwell, best selling author of "The Tipping Point," and Jon Spoelstra, " (Jon is one of the most innovative and successful sports marketers working today), and also author of "Marketing Outrageously, were this years guest speakers and they were riveting. Hats off to the whole AADC team for another job very well done.
