Arctic Monkeys Postpone 3rd Concert

LONDON (VIP-NEWS) — Arctic Monkeys have postponed a third UK concert after lead singer Alex Turner was diagnosed with laryngitis.

The day after they attended the Mercury Prize at London`s Roundhouse, they had to call off a Halloween night gig in Birmingham hours before they were due on stage.

Friday`s show in Glasgow was rescheduled and now Saturday`s gig in Sheffield has also been postponed.

Their hometown gig has now been rescheduled for Monday 18 November.

A statement on the band`s website says all tickets will remain valid for the rearranged dates.

The show at the LG Arena in Birmingham will now take place on 20 November and the show at the Glasgow Hydro is on 21 November.

The statement read: "We wish to apologise to all ticket holders for any inconvenience this has caused. Please contact the customer services at the box office you purchased your tickets for any further assistance."

Many fans had already travelled to the gig at the Birmingham LG Arena and found out while waiting at the venue.

Speaking to Newsbeat, 16-year-old fan Opal-Rose said she had flown home from her family holiday especially to see the band.

"The security guards told us the event was cancelled and we all thought it was a Halloween prank at first and started laughing," she said.

Their fifth album AM had been nominated at Wednesday night`s Mercury Prize awards but lost out on the trophy to James Blake.
