Apple Records Releases Beatles Bootlegs On iTunes

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Beatles record label Apple Records, through the auspices of Universal Music, have released a collection of previously unreleased Beatles music through the iTunes Music Store.

Dubbed the Beatles Bootleg Recordings, the album features 59 tracks, some of which are multiple takes of the same songs, culled from three 1963 recording sessions.

For true Beatles fans, these recordings have been available via bootleg recordings passed to fans, but this is the first time that the music has been released legally.

The decision to release was prompted by recent changes to UK copyright law which regarding unreleased music, according to CNN. Under the new law, unreleased music becomes available to the public after a period of 50 years, but releasing the music extends the current copyright by another 20 years. – Staff Writers
