APA Organizing A Memorial For The Late Troy Blakely

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — The Agency for the Performing Arts announced that they are organizing a memorial honoring veteran music agent, managing partner, and colleague, Troy Blakely.

Blakely, who spent more than 25 years at APA, died in February due to complications with pneumonia.

The memorial, which is being billed as a “celebration honoring the life and legacy” of Blakely, will take place at The Forum Club in Los Angeles on Wednesday, May 9th.

The event will be open to all of Blakely’s friends and colleagues, who are invited to share a story, laugh, tear, or a song, but make sure to RSVP soon as the event will be guest list only and all ticket requests will be waitlisted pending a credential check.

A lifer in the industry, Blakely enjoyed a career that spanned more than 5 decades, with a client roster that included some of the most most successful and recognized performing artists in the world, including Robert Plant, Fleetwood Mac, Judas Priest, Boston, Ozzy Osbourne, Sammy Hagar, Poison, Heart, Lenny Kravitz, Iron Maiden, Sebastian Bach, The Scorpions, Ratt, Triumph, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Faith No More, Alice in Chains, The Black Crowes, Rush, White Snake, and Lita Ford, among numerous others.

In addition to his long tenure as an agent, Blakely also served as a key member of The Grammy Core Selection Committee for over 25 years and received a Hollywood F.A.M.E. Award for his executive career achievements and contributions to the music industry.

“Known as one of the most respected and sought-after music agents in the world, Troy was credited with helping shape the rock music industry as we know it, and his selfless giving to the creative community has earned him the admiration of all those who worked with him. Amongst his many accolades, Troy was most proud of his work serving as Managing Partner and Head of Music at APA for the past 25 years,” a statement from APA said.
