Annual Rock Concert Safety Survey Out

How did the 2001 concert year fare in regard to fan safety? Crowd Management Strategies, a Chicago-based industry watchdog organization
focused on safety at music events worldwide, has released its annual Rock Concert
Safety Survey. At least 52 people died at concerts and festivals worldwide
last year. It also notes that more than 11,000 people were
injured and more than 400 people were arrested or cited at
concerts and festivals in 2001. Concert organizers were also
urged to plan for terrorism. The report noted that four bombs were discovered
when police searched motorists outside an Ozzfest concert in Oregon last year.
