André Menard & Alain Simard To Be Inducted Into Canadian Music Industry Hall Of Fame


TORONTO (CelebrityAccess) — Canadian Music Week announced that industry veterans André Menard and Alain Simard will be inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame next year. Menard and Simard will be honoured on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Canadian Music & Broadcast Industry Awards Gala at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto.

Founder of the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the FrancoFolies de Montréal, the Montreal High Lights Festival, La Grande Mascarade, and more recently, the Montreal International Film Festival, Alain Simard has been the president and CEO of L’Équipe Spectram, and has been an influential figure in Quebec's cultural landscape for decades.

Mr. André Ménard Co-Founded at L'Équipe Spectra Inc. in 1977 and is a co-founder and artistic director of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. He has been a member of the board of directors of the La La La Human Steps dance company since 1995 and was a board member of the member of the Conseil d'administration du partenariat du Quartier des spectacles since its inception in 2003.

Mssrs. Simar and Menard were announced as inductees together due to their long close collaboration in the arts community,
