Anderson Sues Yoakam Over Canceled Concerts

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire)-

Pete Anderson, Dwight Yoakam's music director/guitarist/producer, filed a lawsuit against Yoakam and his touring company, Dwight Yoakam Tours Inc., in California Superior Court in Los Angeles on August 31 for canceling concerts in October 2002 in order to act in a movie. Anderson alleges there was an oral contract to perform the dates in question. He also claims that he lost over $60,000 in wages and perks due to the 2002 cancellation–at least $44,285 in salary, $1,085 in per diem expenses and the 25% of the net proceeds he was promised from the tour.

Anderson claims that between 1990-2003, under an oral agreement with Yoakam, he assembled and rehearsed the singer's touring band, prepared the group's arrangements and led the band onstage. He also produced 16 Yoakam albums. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
