AEG Takes Legal Action Over Unsold Tix

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Last summer's Barbra Streisand date at the 02 Arena in London apparently wasn't quite the smash hit that venue operators AEG hoped it would be.

Although the singer had not been in the UK for 13 years, high ticket prices, some as high as $1,200 dollars, likely contributed to reportedly thousands of empty seats at the arena.

According to the Daily Mail, AEG had lodged suit in the UK seeking to win damages from a trio of entertainment firms that were responsible for selling the tickets, citing breach of contract. In the suit, AEG sought $1.8 million dollars plus interest, asserting that Dutch company Concert Productions International, London-based Solo Agency and SLO Ltd of San Francisco were contractually obligated to pay compensation for unsold seats at the event.

It may have been a tempest in a teapot though, because shortly after seeking the writs, AEG told the Daily Mail, that "The matter has been amicably settled by all parties, all of whom will be working together in the future." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
