AEG Live Appoints New Chief Financial Officer

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — AEG Live has appointed music-industry veteran Jorge Melendez as Chief Financial Officer, reporting to Jay Marciano, Chairman and CEO of AEG Live.

As Chief Financial Officer at AEG Live, Melendez will oversee the division’s financial operations including regional finance teams, financial governance and risk management across its touring, festival and venue operations.

Melendez, joins AEG Live from Live Nation, where he served as Chief Financial Officer of Touring and the Global Artist Rights divisions for more than nine years. During his tenure at the company, he was responsible for managing the overall business unit's profit and loss, coordinating worldwide touring activities and ensuring the operational efficiency of the division.

Prior to joining Live Nation, Melendez served as executive vice president and Chief Financial Officer for EMI’s Latin America Business and spent 17 years at Sony Music International where he held a number of senior management positions, most recently serving as Executive Vice President of Sony Discos, the company’s U.S. Latin Label.

Melendez began his career as a Senior Auditor for Arthur Anderson and holds an Accounting degree from LIU Post.
