AEG Acquires Incited Media And Launches New Division

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — AEG Live has acquired production, management and delivery specialists Incited Media.

AEG will merge Incited's streaming media and broadcast production capabilities with AEG Productions to create AEG Digital Media. The new entity will offer a full spectrum of digital media services for distribution across television, mobile and broadband platforms.

Incited Media was founded in 2001 by Joe Einstein and Ben Rolling, and in the eight years since has established itself, Incited Media has produced and delivered some major online events including The Democratic National Convention, Live Earth, Live 8 and YouTube Live.

Michael Goldfine, current president of AEG Productions, will serve as the company’s top executive. Former Incited Media executives joining the leadership team of AEG Digital Media are Rolling, named vice president of development; Einstein, appointed vice president of production; and John Petrocelli, joining as vice president of sales and business development.

"The digital media industry has seen an acceleration in both the adoption and consumption of premium live event streaming," said Petrocelli, former CEO of Incited Media. "Today’s connected consumer is very interested in accessing live content online that has high production values and is presented to them in high resolution and high definition. These two companies coming together and forming AEG Digital Media provide the entire content industry with the definitive platform to facilitate, enable, turnkey manage and distribute these content experiences."

A key component in many of AEG's new developments such as the L.A. Live entertainment district in downtown Los Angeles is extensive production and broadcast capability and they recently requested approval expanded a hotel project under development in L.A. to include even more studios and the announcement of the launch of AEG Digital Media divsion may give us a hint at who the new tenants will be. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
