Adele's '25' Will Not Be Available On Streaming Services

(Hypebot) – As most music industry insiders guessed, Adele's new album "25" will not be available on any of the major on demand streaming music services when it is released this Friday. Apple Music, Spotify and their competitors will not be streaming the much anticipated release, according to multiple sources.

Adele is said to have been personally involved with the decision, according to the New York Times.

The move makes it even more likely that "25: will sell about 2.5 million copies in its first week, as Billboard has predicted. That would make it the biggest week for a new album since the peak of the CD era when ‘N Sync’s “No Strings Attached” sold 2.4 million in 2000.

Spotify sent this diplomatic comment:

"We love and respect Adele, as do her 24 million fans on Spotify. We hope that she will give those fans the opportunity to enjoy 25 on Spotify alongside 19 and 21 very soon."
