A Tough Night For Death Metal In El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — El Paso Police have arrested 30-year-old man in connection with a multiple stabbing that occurred at a local nightclub during a death metal concert featuring Deicide, Broken Hope, Disgorge, Necronomicon.

Police say that Jesus Ortega was allegedly involved in a scuffle with other patrons inside of the club during the concert when he allegedly pulled out a box cutter and slashed three victims, leaving them with numerous wounds. According to local ABC affiliate KVIA, club security detained Ortega until the police arrived.

All three victims were transported to an area hospital and are expected to recover.

As if the night wasn't already ugly enough, supporting band Broken Hope was kicked off of the tour on the same night. In a post on Broken Hope's Facebook page, a spokesman for the band claimed that Deicide frontman Glen Benton kicked them off of the tour after they stopped letting Deicide use their bass head.

A spokesman for Deicide could not be reached for comment. – Staff Writers
