A New Music Mag From Maxim

Blender is a new music magazine debuting May 8 and comes from the same publishers as Maxim. Started up by Felix Dennis, the magazine will be a quarterly until it goes monthly next year.

With ad pages, ad revenues and circulation down at Rolling Stone and Spin, although up at The Source, Maxim believes this is as good a time to launch a new music magazine as any. The debut issue includes articles about "The Return of Hair Metal," "DJ Clue, the Hip-Hop DJ," the Olivia Newton-John renaissance and country-and-western rappers. There will also be frat house humor and semi-dressed pop stars.
