LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — For the second week in a row, Disney’s presentation of Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame ruled the roost in the weekend box office, adding $145.804 million from North American theaters, according to estimates compiled by Comscore.
Endgame prospered in international markets as well, adding $282.2 million over the weekend, for a combined week two haul of $428.0 million.
The weekend’s results pushed Endgame’s worldwide cume through Sunday to an impressive $2.189 billion, making the film the second highest grossing movie in history after just 11 days.
With Endgame sucking the oxygen out of the box office, Sony’s suspense drama The Intruder debuted to an $11 million North American debut. The thriller, which features direction from Deon Taylor and a cast that includes Dennis Quaid, Meagan Good, Joseph Sikora, tells the story of a couple who buy a home in Napa but find the previous occupant unwilling to relinquish the property.
Lionsgate’s R-rated comedy Long Shot starring Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron debuted at #3, taking in an estimated 10.025 million. The film features Seth Rogan along with Charlize Theron, Andy Serkis, Randall Park, and June Diane Raphael, with Jonathan Levine at the directorial helm.
