(CelebrityAccess) — Hip-hop recording artist August Alsina is reportedly on the mend after he was hospitalized earlier this week after temporarily losing the ability to walk.

Alsina revealed his health challenges in a video he posted to his Instagram account, telling his fans he’d been hospitalized after losing feeling in his legs.

“I woke up one day and wasn’t able to walk,” Alsina says in the clip apparently recorded from his hospital bed. “I couldn’t feel my legs. My doctor ended up admitting me into the hospital.”

Alsina also recently revealed in an interview with Jada Pinkett Smith that he is battling liver disease, telling her “I’m sick all the time.”

Alsina’s health situation also led the “I Luv This Shit” hitmaker to miss his set at the Essence Fest in New Orleans on Sunday night. At present, he is due to return to the road in mid-August, starting with a performance on August 18th at the Rialto in Tucson, Az.
