ASCAP Reveals Major Honorees For 2019 Screen Music Awards

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAcces) – ASCAP has today (March 28) revealed the major honorees for its 2019 Screen Music Awards, which celebrates composers and songwriters of top box office film music, top-rated TV series and the most performed television music of the last year.

Among the newly-announced honorees are composers Michael Giacchino (The Incredibles, Up, Star Trek, Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, Coco, Spider-Man: Far from Home) and Pinar Toprak (Captain Marvel, Fortnite) as well as songwriting team Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land and The Greatest Showman).

Giacchino, an Oscar, Emmy and multi-Grammy winner, will receive the prestigious ASCAP Henry Mancini Award, Toprak — who became the first woman to score a Marvel film with her score for Captain Marvel — will receive the ASCAP Shirley Walker Award, while Oscar, Grammy, Tony and Golden Globe-winning duo Pasek and Paul, will be recognized with the ASCAP Vanguard Award.

The 34th annual ASCAP Screen Music Awards are scheduled to take place in Beverly Hills on May 15.
