MINNEAPOLIS, Minn (CelebrityAccess) — Former U.S. Sen. Al Franken is finally making an attempt at returning to public life via the lecture circuit after his 2017 resignation from the U.S. Senate in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations.

According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Franklin is scheduled to appear for “An Evening with Al Franken” at Revolution Hall in Portland, Oregon on October 2nd.

The show will see Franken share behind-the-scenes tales from his 15-year tenure on SNL, and his more than 8 years representing Minnesota in the U.S. Senate.

Franken was accused by multiple women, mostly nameless, of making unwanted physical conduct and most infamously, was photographed mugging for the camera while pretending to grope a sleeping Leeann Tweeden during USO tour 2006.

Tweeden also claimed that Franken specifically scripted a comedy skit for the tour that included a kiss with him but, as detailed in a recent article in the New Yorker, the skit had been a part of the show well before Tweeden joined the USO tour’s cast.

As well, the famed shot of Franken pretending to grope Tweeden was also something the two performed regularly in the show, according to the New Yorker.

Franken told the magazine that he regrets resigning from the Senate.
