CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess) – Cook County Judge Lawrence Flood has ordered singer R. Kelly to stand trial on one of four sexual abuse cases on September 14, 2020, according to The Associated Press.
Kelly, 52, was charged by Cook County prosecutors in March of 2019 with sexually abusing three minor girls and one woman over the span of more than a decade. He was later indicted in Chicago in July of 2019 on separate charges of child pornography and obstruction of justice. Simultaneously, the singer was indicted in New York on charges that include racketeering, kidnapping, forced labor, and sexual exploitation.
Kelly is currently being held without bond and is already scheduled to stand trial in federal court in Chicago in April and again in federal court in Brooklyn in May, according to the AP.
Judge Flood has reportedly given prosecutors a deadline of January 22, 2020, to determine which of the four cases they will try first.
