PITTSBURGH (CelebrityAccess) – A cassette tape of lost Lou Reed songs suspected to have been recorded for Andy Warhol in 1975 has been discovered by a Cornell University music professor.
The tape was unearthed two years ago by Judith A. Peraino while she was conducting research in the archives of the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, according to The New York Times. Upon listening to it, Peraino discovered Reed workshopping songs based on Warhol’s book The Philosophy of Andy Warhol: From A to B and Back Again.
“This tape is Lou Reed working out what he does best, which is figuring out the character of his song, telling the stories, being as brutally honest as he is in many of his writings,” Peraino, told the New York Times.
