CHICAGO (CelebriyAccess) – R. Kelly is expected to appear in a Chicago federal courtroom later today (Oct. 30) for a status hearing, according to The Associated Press. The hearing will determine whether or not a judge will approve Kelly’s request for bond as he awaits his child pornography trial.
Though unlikely, even if approved, Kelly would still have to remain in custody in Chicago until a judge in a related federal case in New York also agreed to the request, according to the AP.
Last month, Kelly was denied bond by a New York judge and declared both a flight risk and a risk to potential witnesses.
Kelly, 52, is accused of partaking in a racketeering scheme to sexually abuse girls. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges made against him.
