MINNEAPOLIS (CelebrityAccess) — As the final touches are put in place ahead of the grand opening of the Fillmore Minneapolis early next year, Live Nation has revealed the inaugural act and other early bookings for the new concert hall.
The venue, which is currently under construction at 525 N. 5th Street in Minneapolis’s North Loop, will officially open its doors on February 12th, 2020 with three nights of performances by Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile.
“We’re proud to announce an exciting and diverse list of artists for our opening lineup to the music-loving community of Minneapolis,” said Tamsen Preston, senior promoter. “The attention and time we’ve taken to invest in building something special and unique will all be worth it when fans experience their favorite artists inside this amazing new venue. When it opens, the Fillmore Minneapolis will feature 36,000-square-feet of floor space, spread across two floors with an overall capacity of 1,850 fans. The venue includes box seats and premium ticket sections on the mezzanine level alongside upscale food and beverage offerings and dedicated hospitality.
But even the plebs on the main floor will have access to craft beer, cocktails and even shakes from the Trax Burgers and Bar which is on track to open adjacent to the venue in February.
Once it’s up and running, Live Nation anticipates hosting as many as 175 annual concerts and events at the Fillmore. Live Nation also operates the 960-capacity Varsity Theater in in the market as well.
Other artists booked to appear in early 2020 at the Fillmore include Ty Dolla $ign, $uicideboy$, Buddy Guy, Hayley Kiyoko, Sublime with Rome, w/Jon Wayne and The Pain, Three 6 Mafia, Dillon Frances, The Floozies, The Revivalists, Disco Biscuits, Jonny Lang, Citizen Cope and Evanescence, among others.
