SAN FRANCISCO (CelebrityAccess) – Courtney Phillips, UMG’s former Director of Brand Partnerships, has joined Sleep and meditation app Calm as its new Head of Music.
Working closely with Calm’s leadership and content teams, Phillips will be tasked with growing Calm’s music library, which includes everything from ambient sounds to custom tracks. In the past, Calm has partnered with the likes of Sam Smith, Above & Beyond, Sabrina Carpenter, Sigur Rós, Moby and others to produce original compositions.
In addition to two stints with Universal Music Group, Phillips previously worked in the endorsements department at William Morris Endeavor and ran partnerships and festival events for Filter Magazine.
To date, Calm has garnered 60 million downloads and 2 million paying subscribers.
