LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — For the second week in a row, Warner Bros. “Joker” had the last laugh in the box office, earning a respectable $55.0 million in North America for a cume through Sunday of $192.729 million.
“Joker” topped the weekend box office internationally as well, adding $123.7M on 24,149 screens in 79 markets and worldwide, the film has cumed $543.9M in just 12 days of release.
Coming in at number 2, United Artists Releasing opened MGM’s animated family-friendly comedy “The Addams Family” creeped its way to a $30.2m debut from North American theaters.
An animated take on the hoary horror classic, “The Addams Family” stars a voice cast that includes Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloe Grace Moretz, Bette Midler, Allison Janney, Aimee Garcia, Nick Kroll, Elsie Kate Fisher, Finn Wolfhard and is directed by Conrad Vernon & Greg Tiernan.
Coming in at #3 this weekend was the Will Smith-led action-thriller “Gemini Man.” Directed by Ang Lee, “Gemini Man” opened to $20.5 million from North American theaters.
The film also stars Clive Owen, Linda Emond, Benedict Wong, Ralph Brown, Douglas Hodge, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, & Theodora Miranne.
