NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Even as Soundcloud rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is awaiting sentencing for his role in crimes committed by the violent drug trafficking group Nine Trey Gangsters, he’s apparently landed a major new recording deal with his former label 10K Projects.

According to Rolling Stone, Tekashi, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, has signed a deal with the label for two albums, one in English and one in Spanish.

Tekashi is currently awaiting sentencing in after pleading guilty to federal racketeering and firearms charges, and had been facing up to 47 years in prison but became a cooperating witness and provided more than three days of testimony against his former accused compatriots.

Hernandez previously pleaded guilty to a felony count of use of a child in a sexual performance after he recorded sexually explicit videos of a 13-year-old girl and distributed them online.

10K projects, which was founded by Elliot Grainge, the son of Universal Music Group’s legendary CEO Lucian Grainge, released several of Tekashi’s projects, including his debut album “Dummy.” When “Dummy” debuted last November, it landed at #2 on the Billboard 200, generating sales of 66,000 album-equivalent units.
