HELSINKI, Finland (CelebrityAccess) — Operators of Helsinki’s Olympic Stadium announced a long-term ticketing deal with Lippupiste Oy, the CTS Eventim-owned Finnish ticketing company.

The deal will see Lippupiste, which is the leading competitor for Live Nation’s Ticketmaster Finland, handle ticketing and marketing at the stadium, which is one of the largest event venues in Finland.

“We are creating a new kind of event culture in our country where the consumer will not just go to a concert or watch a match, but will experience a holistic experience. The revamped Olympic Stadium is a meeting place throughout the year, and we are extremely excited about this collaboration. Together we have many opportunities to serve the public and provide new experiences,” enthused Ari Palhamo, CEO of Lippupiste.

The stadium, which originally opened in 1938, shuttered in 2016 for a major refurb. Originally slated to open in 2019, the 42,000-capacity stadium is now scheduled to reopen in 2020.

“The Olympic Stadium is preparing for a new era with a great network of partners in which Lippupiste has a significant role as a service provider and partner,” says Ari Kuokkanen, Director of the Olympic Stadium.
