PITTSBURGH, PA (CelebrityAccess) — Ahead of Toby Keith’s concert at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh last week, the country music legend presented disabled veteran Brandon Rumbaugh with a gift of an all-terrain wheelchair.
The wheelchair, provided through a partnership The Independence Fund, a non-profit organization that assists wounded veterans, and Toby Keith’s own philanthropic foundation, was presented to Rumbaugh on stage before the concert along with backstage passes.
According to Fox Cleveland, Rumbaugh watched the concert from the side of the stage and joined Keith onstage during his performance of “American Soldier.”
Rumbaugh told CNN affiliate WPXI that the chair will help him active outdoors and play with his six-month-old daughter.
Rumbaugh was serving in the Marine Corps in Afghanistan in 2010 when he was seriously injured in an IED attack, resulting in the loss of both of his legs. He’s since become a motivational speaker.
Keith made a similar gift to disabled vet Christian “Chris” Fleming during a concert in Kentucky last month.
