(CelebrityAccess) – Poison frontman and reality TV star Bret Michaels has announced that he will be extending his “Unbroken World Tour” to include a series of ‘Hometown Heroes’ special event concerts.
For each of the five ‘Hometown Heroes’ dates, Michael’s has partnered with radio stations in each market to launch a contest that recognizes local heroes.
According to a press release, the contest recognizes heroes as “anyone who makes a difference in the lives of the communities they serve or in recognition of a heroic act.” Members of the community can nominate local heroes including police officers, fire fighters, paramedics and first responders, emergency room doctors and nurses, teachers, active service military and veterans. They can also nominate “forgotten” heroes including the people who provide service at local shelters and food banks, utility workers who keep water, power and gas on, often working in dangerous conditions and even the school crossing guards who protect children on a daily basis.
From these nominations, the radio stations will select five winners at random from all the local entries. Each winner will receive a pair of tickets to one of Michaels’ concert along with a gift bag, in addition to being recognized on stage ahead of the show.
