(CelebrityAccess) — Brittany Howard, the multi-talented musician best known as the guitarist and lead vocalist of the Alabama Shakes, dropped into the Late Show with Stephen Colbert to showcase a new solo single “Stay High.”
Backed by a trio of backup singers and with some help from Colbert’s house band, Howard showed off her impressive vocal range and stage presence in a performance that hearkened back to the heyday of Motown.
“Stay High” is the latest single from Howard’s solo debut “Jamie” which dropped this month via ATO Records.
“Jamie” also includes the lead single “History Repeats” and will be supported by Howard’s first solo tour which kicks off on Sept. 27th at Fillmore in Philadelphia.
