(CelebrityAccess) — Amazon has launched a free option for its music streaming services in the UK, one of the world’s leading music consumption markets.
The expanded streaming service is ad-supported and is available via Amazon’s Alexa-enabled smart in-home speaker and surveillance devices.
The ad-supported tier includes a selection of playlists and stations, and users will be able to access other stations based on a song, artist, genre or even era
The ad-supported tier launched for Amazon’s U.S. customers earlier this year and the company is eyeing expanding the program to other markets.
Rival music streamer Google is also experimenting with a freemium tier via its own smart speaker products, with plans to roll the free tier access to sixteen markets, including the US, and the UK.
