LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – Authorities searched the Los Angeles-area home of rapper YG on Thursday (July 18) in connection to a shooting that took place earlier this month, according to The Associated Press.
Several people were reportedly detained while the police conducted their search, however, none were arrested. YG was not home at the time.
The search comes after an SUV registered to the rapper (real name Keenon Jackson) was involved in a shootout with police on July 3rd. The incident in Compton led to the death of one bystander and one officer being shot during a pursuit. One suspect was captured while another made an escape.
YG maintains that he had nothing to do with the shooting and he has not been arrested in connection with the incident.
Deputy Marvin Crowder, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, told AP that there is “no concrete link” between Jackson and the shooting besides his vehicle.
