LOS ANGELES/LONDON (CelebrityAccess) – Three Six Zero CEO & Founder, Mark Gillespie, has announced that DJ, artist, and prominent industry figure, Pete Tong, will be joining his record label, Three Six Zero Recordings, as President.
Launched in 2018, Three Six Zero Recordings is a joint venture between Sony Music and Gillespie’s well-established management company, Three Six Zero.
Under Tong’s leadership, the label will look to further establish a strong presence in the electronic music space by building upon its current roster, which includes the likes of Calvin Harris, Tiësto, Louis Tomlinson, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Jaden Smith, Willow Smith, Shameik Moore and Brady Corbet among others.
Tong, who previously worked as A&R director for London Records / FFRR, is a founding partner of The International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza and the co-creator of WME’s Electronic Music Division, will also oversee the release of all soundtracks for Three Six Zero produced film and television content.
CEO of Sony Music Entertainment, Rob Stringer said: “Pete is obviously a legendary innovator in dance music globally so him joining this exciting new chapter of Three Six Zero is a huge coup for Mark and in turn for Sony Music!”
Added Tong: “I’m looking forward to joining forces with Mark and his team to build a label that embraces a fresh approach, offering artists a unique home in the modern marketplace. Our goal is to release some great music, amplify the artists vision and move the needle.”
Said Gillespie: “Pete has been a supporter of Three Six Zero since our first record was played on the radio. It’s inspiring to have someone with his A&R experience, knowledge and connectivity joining our creative team.”
Tong will split his time between Los Angeles and London.
