BRUSSELS (CelebrityAccess) Belgium musical festival VestiVille, already drawing the inevitable “Fyre Festival” comparison, has been swiftly shut down amid security concerns and a fraud investigation.
The June 28-30 fest was to include names like Cardi B, Future, Meek Mill, Migos, Jason Derulo, A$AP Rocky and Trey Songz. Instead, people arrived at the festival to find it canceled and apparently without refunds.
#vestiville wait two hours to get in and it’s cancelled, spent 800 pound in total and came all the way from the uk are u mad. And apparently no refund? The debt is mad 🤣

The mayor of Lommel apparently decided the festival couldn’t move forward because they couldn’t guarantee the safety of A$AP Rocky nor the public, according to the festivals’ Twitter and Facebook platforms. Those who did arrive were apparently met with no food nor water at the campsite.
Currently at @VestiVille – this is FYRE festival 2.0 – was not allowed to leave the campsite during 14hours to go get food or water and they were not selling any either #vestiville

A$AP Rocky released the following:

“Production and suppliers have given everything to make Vestiville possible,” festival organizers said. “The campsite will remain open for the time being and an organized festival exit will be organized in consultation with the municipality.”
However, some posted Fyre-like moments that appeared almost dangerous:
Scenes at @VestiVille were beyond scary. Unprofessional and so unsafe. No announcement regarding cancellation and staff members put at risk. Ridiculous pic.twitter.com/IitjUjvFze

VestiVille said it was consulting with its partners “about a refund.”
Meanwhile, it was noted that the lineup included Fyre Festival co-founder and hype man Ja Rule.
Quoting Flemish press, Belgium’s RTBF network says the Limbourg prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation on suspicion of fraud over payments and apparently three festival organizers we3re questioned Friday night.
Apparently, several of the patrons were Americans who traveled overseas for the event.
American Vestiville goers asking if their thousands of dollars will be refunded smh. Shame on you @VestiVille. #Vestiville pic.twitter.com/bmbtRJuNId
