LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – Wendy Goldstein has been promoted to President, West Coast Creative at Republic Records.

A widely respected A&R executive, Goldstein, who has served as Executive Vice President since 2017, played a key role in both Ariana Grande’s No.1 Thank U, Next and the Jonas Brothers’ comeback Happiness Begins.

Goldstein began her career as an assistant in the A&R department of Epic Records. From 1993-1997, she worked in A&R at Geffen Records and was personally responsible for signing The Roots, Common, GZA, Mos Def, and The Bloodhound Gang. She then became Head of Urban A&R at Priority Records/Capitol, orchestrating a label deal with Disturbing The Peace and overseeing projects for Snoop Dogg, Chingy, Latoya Luckett, and more until leaving the company in 2007.

Goldstein joined Republic Records as an A&R Consultant in 2009. In 2011, she became Senior Vice President of A&R for the label, formally joining the team in the West Coast office, and in 2014, the label named her Executive Vice President and Head of Urban A&R.

Republic Co-Founder/Chief Executive Monte Lipman said: “Wendy’s reputation as one of the industry’s best A&R executives is accurate and well deserved. Her instincts, focus and respect within the creative community remains unparalleled. Leading by example, this new position will recognize her proven track record as an exceptional executive, role model, and gives her the opportunity to guide the company into uncharted waters.”

Republic Co-Founder/Chief Executive Avery Lipman added: “Wendy is truly an A&R visionary. Her keen intuition, perspective, and passion for music have galvanized the careers of countless superstars. Not to mention, she’s family to Republic Records having signed our very first project to a major label deal. We can’t wait for the next chapter with her.”

Goldstein said: “It’s been a privilege to work with Monte, Avery and Republic Records since 1996 when I signed their first act to Geffen Records. In the twenty years since, we’ve been a part of some of music’s most important artists together. Truly, they’ve empowered and inspired me every step of the way. It’s an honor to be a part of what they’ve built, and I’m looking forward to many more milestones together.”
