LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) When Carole Bayer Sager accepts the Johnny Mercer Award Thursday night, she will be one of just a few women to ever be so honored.

Sager is expected to accept the award at the 50th annual Songwriters Hall of Fame gala and she will be only the six female to receive the award, following the likes of Carole King and Dolly Parton. Betty Comden was the first female to win the award, in 1991.

There have been six times as many men to receive the award, Billboard noted.

Sager’s biggest hit is “That’s What Friends ARe For,” which she co-wrote with former husband Burt Bacharach. It won a Grammy for song of the year in 1986. Sager has had six Oscar nominations for best song and won one for “Arthur’s Theme,” which she wrote with Christopher Cross and Peter Allen.
