TEL AVIV, Israel (CelebrityAccess) The Netherlands won the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, which was hosted in Tel Aviv, Israel, May 18.
Duncan Laurence’s piano ballad “Arcade” was considered an early frontrunner before Saturday’s Grand Final. It had to rely upon van voting to secure the country’s fifth win in the competition.
Italy finished second, followed by Russia, Switzerland and Norway.
An estimated 200 million people from around the world tuned in to watch the campy spectacle, with 26 nations in the contest. Israel earned the right to host the show after Netta Barzilai won last year with her pop anthem “Toy.”
