HEBER, UT (CelebrityAccess) — Bonanza Campout, a 3-day music festival set to take place in Utah in June, has been canceled over permitting issues.

Festival organizers announced the cancellation with a post to the event’s website:

“We regret to inform you that due to being denied the necessary licensing and permits from Wasatch County and the Utah DABC (Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control), Bonanza Campout has made the decision to cancel this year’s event.

“Our team is committed to providing top-tier fan experiences and works year-round to curate and produce a world-class festival environment. After reviewing all alternative options, we have come to the conclusion that there is no possible way to relocate the festival and still provide both artists and attendees with the same level of production and fan experience that Bonanza Campout has become known for.”

Festival organizers added that all ticketing and lodging purchased for the 2019 edition of the festival were “in the process of being refunded.” As well, organizers noted that they hope to bring the festival back in 2020.

Originally scheduled to take place from June 21st – 23rd at River’s Edge Campground in Heber, Utah, the festival boasted a lineup that included headliners DJ Snake, Empire of the Sun, and G-Eazy.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, festival organizers ran into headwinds over licensing violations from 2018 that included illegal drug use on the premises, allowing liquor to be brought in from outside the venue, and selling hard liquor in too-large quantities.

Following the violations, organizers paid a $12,000 fine and promised to provide additional security for the 2019 event but the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control declined to provide the festival with a single-use event permit for this year.
