NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Fans of the K-Pop group BTS appear to be committed to getting a choice spot for their upcoming concert in Central Park, with hundreds of people staking out Summer Stage at Central Park a day ahead of the show.
According to ABC News, the crowds started to accumulate as early as last Wednesday, when about 20 people were camped near the stage in anticipation of the show.
By Tuesday, the day before the show, the crowd had jumped to hundreds of fans, with many pitching tents in spite of park rules, to ward off the rain and cold, ABC reported.
Other fans had resorted to fold-up chairs and blankets, which are allowed by the park’s rules.
The aggregation of fans prompted the New York Police Department to issue a reminder on social media that pitching tents and camping in the park was a safety issue.

BTS, who are in the midst of a North American tour, are due to perform at the kick-off Good Morning America Summer Concert Series on May 16th. Tickets to the performance were free and are currently sold out.
According to organizers, fan enthusiasm for the show was matched only by the Backstreet Boys and Beyonce.
“There’s actually a line commander that’s in charge,” Summer Stage General Manager Larry Siegel told ABC. “They’re very organized, which is surprising, but it works.”
