LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — The former manager of the late Marvel Comics icon Stan Lee, has been charged with elder abuse.
According to Reuters, Keya Morgan was charged on Friday with five counts of elder abuse including false imprisonment, fraud, and forgery. The charges relate to an incident in 2018 when Lee was 95 years old, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Superior Court public information office told Los Angeles City News Service.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Morgan’s arrest, Reuters reported.
Morgan is a New York-based memorabilia collector who became associated with Lee in 2017. Last year, Lee’s family served Morgan with a restraining order and accused him of abusing Lee in his elderly state.
The family accused Morgan of controlling access to Lee and his Los Angeles home, relocating Lee to a new condominium against his family’s will and of hiring security guards to restrict the family’s access to Lee.
Lee, who was the co-creator of iconic Marvel superheroes who have since become major box office properties for Disney, such as Spiderman, the Incredible Hulk, and the Avengers. Lee died in November 2018 at the age of 95.
