Tony Award Nominations Complete List, Including Some Surprising Snubs
959 0

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) The Tony Awards nominations were announced last night, with the musical “Hadestown” getting 14 nods.

The musical “Ain’t Too Proud” is second with 12 nominations and third place is tied with “Beetlejuice” and “The Ferryman” each receiving nine nominations.

However, the list also includes some surprising snubs. “To Kill A Mockingbird” and “Network” were each left out of the Best Play category. The former, an adaptation by Aaron Sorkin, was “gloriously reviewed,” as Deadline described it. “The omission might be the single biggest Tony snub in years, if not decades,” the trade site said, promising it would examine the omission in upcoming stories.

Bryan Cranston and Jeff Daniels are nominated for Best Performance by a Lead Actor in a Play for “Network” and “To Kill A Mockingbird,” respectively.

The nominations were announced live by Brandon Victor Dixon and Bebe Neuwirth at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.
