SANTA MONICA, CA (CelebrityAccess) — Jenny Pagliaro, singer, songwriter and vocalist for the L.A.-based roots rock band Roses & Cigarettes, has died from complications of breast cancer. She was 35.

Pagliaro’s passing was announced on her social media:

Pagliaro first met her bandmate Angela Petrill when Petrilli auditioned for a guitarist role in a cover band Pagliaro was performing with. The two hit it off and founded their own band Rose & Cigarettes in 2013.

Roses & Cigarettes released their eponymously-named debut album in 2015, shortly before Pagliaro was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer and began to pursue treatment.

A year later, Pagliaro was again diagnosed with cancer, this time Stage IV. Despite the diagnosis and treatments for Pagliaro, the band hit the road and completed a successful tour in support of their release.

Roses & Cigarettes has opened for Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters, Jim Lauderdale, Luther Dickinson, Marc Broussard, Radney Foster, Elizabeth Cook, The Record Company, Amanda Shires and others and earlier this year, released their followup album “Echoes & Silence”

A GoFundMe has been established in Jenny’s name to help defray the costs of her medical expenses.
