PHILADELPHIA (CelebrityAccess) The outdoor concerts that would normally take place at Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing during the summer in Philadelphia will be in another location because of redevelopment, Live Nation and Delaware River Waterfront Corporation confirmed to KYW Newsradio.
The shift includes Roots Picnic, although organizers said the move to Mann Center this June was intended long before the recent situation. The DRWC said they hope to still have some concerts at Penn’s Landing’s Great Plaza this summer.

Live Nation called it a “sabbatical” but wouldn’t elaborate, according to KYW.
“It just upsets me,” neighbor Michael Clemmons told the news channel. “(The atmosphere) is like no other. You ever been to a football game? A concert’s like that times ten.”
“It’s unfortunate,” added another fan whose most recent concert at the Pier was the Goo Goo Dolls. “It takes an attraction away from the city. It was nice to go to when you wanted to, they had a lot of midweek concerts, that was always a nice break.”
