CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess) — The music of Britney Spears will be featured in a new jukebox musical headed to Broadway in 2020.
The production, a comedy called Once Upon A One More Time, will showcase Spear’s catalog in a story based on a book club made up of fairytale princesses.
The production will debut off-Broadway in Chicago later this year, with plans to land in New York by 2020.
According to Playbill performances are scheduled to begin with a soft open on October 29 at the James M. Nederlander Theatre before a November 13 official opening.
Kristin Hangii, who earned a Tony nomination for the jukebox Rock Of Ages, will direct, with Keone and Mari Madrid overseeing choreography for the show.
Casting and additional members of the creative team will be announced later.
