SAN FRANCISCO (CelebrityAccess) — The owners of two of San Francisco’s leading music venues — The Great American Music Hall and Slim’s — announced a new partnership with AEG subsidiary Goldenvoice.

The agreement will see the Great American Music Hall and Slim’s teaming up with Goldenvoice for select joint promotion events with Goldenvoice providing booking services and promotion, while both venues will continue to host private events and functions.

“We at Slims and the Music Hall are excited about working with the folks at Golden Voice,” said country music artist Boz Scaggs, who has an ownership stake in both venues. “They bring a new level of outreach and imagination, along with a genuine love of music to our clubs and to the Bay Area.”

Originally opened as a gambling den and bordello in 1906 following the Great Earthquake, The Great American Music Hall is one of the city’s oldest music venues. While the property has incarnated multiple times over its history, including a period where it served as a Moose Lodge, the venue 5000-square foot concert hall was acquired by Boz Scaggs’ Big Billy Inc. which helped to turn the concert space into one of the top rooms of its size in the U.S. Upcoming shows at the Great American Music Hall include Anne Meredith and Future Twin on Jan 25th and the Wallows, who are currently on a North American run, on Jan. 24th.

Opened in 1988 by Boz Scaggs and friends, the 500-capacity Slim’s has won numerous accolades as a live music venue over the years and has played host to artists ranging from Radiohead to Kings of Leon, X, Prince, Curtis Mayfield and Sonny Rollins. Its reputation, combined with its centralized location in he South of Market district, has made the club into a key part of the city’s nightlife. Upcoming shows on the books for Slim’s include Anti-Flag on Jan. 26th and a sold-out show by John Maus on Jan 27.

“I am honored that Goldenvoice was chosen to book these two legendary San Francisco landmarks,” said Goldenvoice Vice President and General Manager Paul Billings. “Our teams share similar values and we look forward to this new relationship.”
