ORLANDO, FLA (CelebrityAccess) Tonight’s Jackson Browne show at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Fla., will have “an increased security presence,” according to a statement by Orlando police after a threat was made more than 1,000 miles away.

Two banners, vulgar and misspelled, were put up at the Unitarian Universalist Church in West Lafayette, Ind., Jan. 22 with one referencing Jackson Brown and the date of the concert and another saying “Die Orlando, just like (Las) Vegas,” according to WESH News. The banners included racial epithets and a number of slurs, according to authorities.

The church and Browne are both known for liberal stances, according to the station.

The church had been mobilizing voters ahead of the 2018 midterms, according to ABC News.

“The Nazis and white-supremacists feel empowered and they feel like they can just do this and spread their hate,” Pastor Charles Davis told WESH.

West Lafayette Mayor John Dennis said on Facebook his city has notified the FBI. City officials said they would hold a “Unite Against Hate” rally Jan. 24 to show solidarity with the church.
