LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess) — Concerts West’s long-running residency deal with Celine Dion with the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace is coming to an end this summer and will herald a change of direction for the AEG affiliated company.
According to a report in Billboard, after the residency is up, Concert West Senior Vice President John Nelson will transition into overseeing Dion’s global touring, with the Canadian singer expected to announce a major worldwide tour after her residency concludes.
By any measure, Dion’s Las Vegas residency in Sin City has been an unrivaled success. As Billboard noted, Dion’s final performances this summer will cap an astounding 1,113 shows at the Colosseum and the residency will have grossed more than $650 million when the final curtain comes down.
Once the residency concludes, AEG’s Senior Vice President Bobby Reynolds will step to the fore and oversee the AEG Presents Las Vegas office and the lion’s share of the company’s business in the market, Billboard reported. Reynolds will also continue to book Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel, which will be relaunched under the Virgin Hotel brand later this year.
Reynolds noted that the company was also looking for new business opportunities in the market.
“We’re creating new concepts and new festivals,” Reynolds told Billboard’s Dave Brooks. “The company is 100 percent behind me and I’m really looking forward to the next chapter in my career, working with my team to find new opportunities.”
