Elton John Says Goodbye To Australia And New Zealand

AUSTRALIA (CelebrityAccess) Elton John’s massive farewell tour, which has promised three years of having the superstar saying goodbye to the world, now includes December dates for the land Downunder and January dates for New Zealand.

“Farewell Yellow Brick Road” will hit 15 dates across Australia, starting with HBF Park stadium in Perth Nov. 30 and travels to places like Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Dec. 10-11 and Brisbane Entertainment Centre Dec. 13 before wrapping at Mt. Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand, Feb. 98 with performances including A Day On The Green in Rutherglen, VIC, along the way Jan. 29 and 31.

The shows will be 48 years after John’s first Australian tour, which launched at Perth’s Subiaco Oval on Oct. 17, 1971.

Tickets to the capital city shows go on sale Feb. 14 and other dates go on sale begins Feb. 15.

“I always love coming back to Australia. Ever since my first visit in 1971 it has held a very special place in my heart,” John said in a statement. “I’m ecstatic and humbled to continue to play for audiences across the globe. I plan to bring to my final tour the passion and creativity that has entertained my fans for decades… It’s the most produced and fantastic show I’ve ever done. I want to go out with a bang.”
