LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Warner Music UK announced the appointment of Nick Burgess as Co-President of Parlophone Records, effective February 1st.
Burgess will oversee all aspects of Parlophone Records, including A&R, marketing, press, promotion, digital, and design jointly head up the label with his co-President Mark Mitchell, who has been in a leadership role at the label since January 2018.
Both Burgess and Mitchell report to Max Lousada, CEO of Recorded Music, WMG and Chairman & CEO, Warner Music UK.
Prior to joining Parlophone, Burgess served as SVP of A&R at Virgin EMI, where he signed artists including Bastille, Chvrches, Blossoms, MNEK, Lewis Capaldi, Loyle Carner and Hardy Caprio to the label.
From 2008 until 2011, he was MD of Jive Records UK, signing and launching Chipmunk, who was one of the first UK rappers to take an album to platinum. He was previously with Virgin records from 2002 until 2008, where he ultimately served as the head of A&R and signed The Kooks and The Thrills.
Burgess began his A&R career at Gut Records in 1999, following a five-year stint as a guitarist signed to EMI.
